"Headstart" gets the reaction of a Filipino nurses' organization on the DOLE's request for the U.K. and certain European Union member states to provide three million COVID-19 vaccine doses to the Philippines before their agency lifts the ban on the overseas deployment of Filipino nurses. Filipino Nurses United president Maristela Abenojar says their group believes that there was no proper coordination between the DOLE and the DOH on the vaccination of OFWs, and believe that the DOLE should lift the deployment cap on Filipino nurses. Abenojar also emphasizes the need to see the peer review for the phase 3 clinical trials of Sinovac's COVID-19 vaccine. She then speaks about grievances of Filipino nurses over unpaid hazard fees and special risks allowances.
