"Matters of Fact" talks to National Union of Peoples' Lawyers president Atty. Edre Olalia about the terrorism charges filed against two Aetas from Zambales, the first known case under the controversial anti-terrorism law. Olalia claims the accused Aetas experienced torture from the military, and discusses the incident from which the charges were based. He says they have affidavits and accounts to prove that the said Aetas, along with their two companions, are unarmed civilians. Veteran journalist Vergel Santos later joins the program to delve into the need for journalists to fact-check public officials' remarks right away. He states that any news source propagating falsehoods should be called out. He believes that the Duterte regime has sent a chill across the journalism profession, causing journalists to become timid in reporting about the government.
