Patriarch Samuel petitioned his son, Ismael back in 1996. Ismael patiently waited, while tending their farm in the Philippines. However, the petitioner died in December 2014, resulting in the petition becoming void.
In attempts to save money on lawyer’s fees, Ismael’s siblings chose to get inexpensive attorneys to help them with their case. Unfortunately, after spending money on two lawyers for humanitarian reinstatement, nothing was done to help move their case forward. At this point, Ismael’s sister decided to file the documents on her own.
Still, another denial. She then approached a congressman to intercede on their behalf, which merely resulted in getting a status update on the case.
In the end, the family retained leading U.S. Immigration Attorney Michael J. Gurfinkel. Find out how Atty. Gurfinkel and his team were able to champion the case of Ismael and were able to deliver positive results on a brand-new episode of Citizen Pinoy.
