Jeff Canoy has been with the ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs Team for nearly a decade. The broadcast journalist joined the Kapamilya Network in 2007, first covering local news in Manila, the nation’s capital, before moving on to cover the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The Kapamilya reporter graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in A Communications. As early as his college years, Jeff Canoy has already immersed in the world of journalism. He was the Design Editor for “The Guidon,” the official student publication of Ateneo de Manila University, and he also co-founded “Katipunan,” which was known as the first independent student-run publication in the Philippines. He was also Managing Editor for the said magazine.
In 2013, Jeff Canoy was selected to take part in the Malaysian Press Institute’s International Journalism Fellowship in Kuala Lumpur. He specialized in multimedia journalism in the above-mentioned fellowship program. In 2014, he was awarded Outstanding News Magazine Program Host for “Patrol ng Pilipino” at the 5th Golden Screen Awards for Television. He shared the award with fellow Kapamilya broadcast journalist Atom Araullo.
The accomplished Kapamilya reporter enjoys traveling and taking photos during his spare time. the former college lecturer also delivers talks from time to time. No doubt, the future looks very bright for Jeff Canoy.
