Her lineage as a scion of the iconic Salvador clan of local show business may have given Maja Salvador an easy entry to the industry, but the young star’s notable talent in acting and performing had been the main elements that kept her in the limelight since she started.
After getting good reviews playing a supporting role in the Bea-John Lloyd teleserye It Might Be You, Maja immediately moved on to conquer lead roles in major soaps including Spirits, Nagsimula sa Puso, May Bukas Pa, Impostor, Pangarap Na Bituin, Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin, Ina, Kapatid, Anak, the highly controversial The Legal Wife and Bridges of Love.
She made her film debut in 2006 as one of the supporting characters in Sukob, which immediately won her the Star Awards for Movies New Movie Actress of the Year and the Golden Screen Award’s Breakthrough Performance by an Actress. She then joined the lead cast of the big screen teen romance First Day High and gave a moving performance as John Lloyd Cruz’ good-hearted girlfriend in One More Chance. In 2011, she co-produced and starred in the film Thelma, for which she won Best Actress from Gawad Urian and the Film Academy of the Philippines.
Maja has also released her own albums Believe and Maja In Love, which have both reached Platinum status. She has also staged two sold-out concerts, entitled MAJ: The Legal Performer and Majasty. She was recently seen playing Coco Martin’s love interest in the hit action-drama series Ang Probinsyano and is currently part of ASAP’s star-powered roster of hosts and performers.
