Carmi Martin joined Philippine cinema as one of Dolphy’s Angels in the hit comedy with the same title. She also starred with the late comedian in the films Stariray, The Quick Brown Fox, John en Marsha, Dancing Master, Dino Dinero, Father and Son and Dobol Trobol. She later appeared in several films with the hit comedy trio Tito, Vic & Joey. This includes D’ Gradweyts, Mr. Wan Tu Tri, Iskul Bukol, Working Boys and Ma’am May We Go Out?
She became one of her generation’s beloved leading ladies. She was paired up with Fernando Poe, Jr. in Manedyer si Kumander; Chiquito in Mang Kepweng; Weng Weng in For Your Height Only; Jimmy Santos in I Love You 3X A Day; Christopher de Leon in Dalaga si Misis, Binata si Mister; Redford White in Johnny Tango; Lito Lapid in Palaban: Dos Por Dos; Bernard Bonnin in Alyas Palos; and Vic Vargas in Andres de Saya.
She was part of a number of notable flms of the 80s including Cain At Abel, Bagong Hari, Bayan Ko: Kapit Sa Patalim, Hot Property and Working Girls and has continued to stand out with supporting roles in the recent big screen hits No Other Woman, In The Name of Love, The Healing, The Mistress, The Bride and The Lover, Four Sisters and a Wedding, Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina at Mga Anak, Feng Shui 2, Ex with Benefits, Love Me Tomorrow and Extra Service.
Carmi has also made remarkable success in the field of television as host and performer in the variety show Tonight with Dick & Carmi, as the funny vixen in the sitcom Abangan Ang Susunod na Kabanata, and playing various roles in the hit series Labs Ko si Babe, Buttercup, Ikaw Ang lahat sa Akin, Mars Ravelo’s Lastikman and Moon of Desire.
