Nova Villa started out as a dramatic actress who played opposite Philippine Action King Fernando Poe Jr. in the film Baril na Ginto in 1964. She eventually became more famous as a comedian, garnering Best Actress awards for her performances in the sit-coms Chika Chika Chicks, Abangan ang Sususnod na Kabanata and Home Along Da Riles.
She is also one of Philippine show business’ most gifted character actors, typically cast in comedy films such as I Love You 3x A Day, Daddy Knows Best, Mga Kwento Ni Lola Basyang, Isang Platitong Mani, Ako si Kiko, Ako si Kikay, Bondying, Michael and Madonna, Pido Dida, Home Along Da Riles Da Movie, Hindi Pa Tapos ang Labada, Darling, Si Ayala at si Zobel and Desperadas.
She has also been tapped to play notable roles in serveral romantic films such as P.S. I Love You, Forgive and Forget, Dreamboy, Close To You, Every Breath U Take, All You Need is Pag-Ibig and This Time. She was also part of the cast of the teleseryes Mangarap Ka, Super Inggo, Kokey and Agimat: Mga Alamat Ni Ramon Revilla: Tiyagong Akyat.
Nova is the sister of late comedian Tia Pusit.
