Bamboo Manalac first rocked Philippine music as the original frontman of the hit band Rivermaya. He eventually left the band to pursue his studies in the US and then formed his own band Bamboo upon his return to Manila. He later shifted to a solo career marked by the release of his first solo album No Water, No Moon, which became a Gold Record hit in 2013. His 10-track second solo album Bless This Mess, recorded in Grand Street Recording Studio in New York, was released in 2015.
Bamboo joined ASAP in 2012 and has since become one of its mainstay hosts and performers. He was eventually tapped to become one of the coaches for The Voice of the Philippines and The Voice Kids Philippines.
