Daniel Padilla immediately charmed the Filipino audience with his good looks and bad boy demeanor, which were closely identical to the celebrated image of his famous uncle Robin Padilla. His parents Karla Estrada and Rommel Padilla are also well-known showbiz personalities.
The young Padilla first starred in the remake of the 90s youth-oriented hit Gimik, where he was initially paired with Julia Montes. But his subsequent team up with Julia’s Mara Clara co-star Kathryn Bernardo proved more popular with the masses. Their tandem, which started in the primetime television series Princess and I, were soon featured in the popular soaps Got To Believe and Pangako Sa ‘Yo and the box office favorites 24/7 In Love, Sisterakas, Must Be…Love, Pagpag: Siyam Na Buhay, She’s Dating The Gangster and Crazy Beautiful You.
Outside their famous love team, Daniel has also showcased his talent as a cast member of Growing Up and Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw as well as in his movies with his Uncle Robin, which includes Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Ina, At Mga Anak and Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo.
Daniel has also proven his versatility as a performer by showcasing his musical side. His self-titled debut album, Daniel Padilla, sold more than 10,000 copies in less than a week and has gone on to reach Double Platinum. His second and third albums DJP and I Heart You also reached Double Platinum stutus, while his last album I Feel Good has already turned Gold. Daniel is also one of the Original Pilipino Music’s Junior Ambassadors for promoting local music to the Filipino youth.
