Gina Pareño

This veteran dramatic actress first made waves in show business as a contract talent under Sampaguita Pictures in the 60s, where she was paired with the era’s major heartthrob Eddie Gutierrez in the film Eddie Long Legs and became a member of the Stars of 66 that also included Rosemarie Sonora, Dindo Fernando, and Ricky Belmonte among others. Later on in her career, she made a series of unforgettable performances in several movies including Working Girls and Sana Maulit Muli, and received the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in the romantic comedy Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo from the Metro Manila Film Festival, FAMAS Awards and Film Academy of the Philippines. She has also been a recepient of several international honors including Best Actress at the Osian’s Cinefan Fsstival of Asian and Arab Cinema and the Brussels International Independednt Film Festival for her role in Kubrador (The Bet Collector) as well as a citation at the 61st Cannes Film Festival, a Best Actress award from the 6th Pacific Meridian International Film Festival , and a Best Supporting Actress award from the Asian Film Award for her performance in Brillante Mendoza’s Serbis. Gina also played remarkable roles in many ABS-CBN teleseryes, including Familia Zaragoza, Saan Ka Man Naroroon, Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan, Basta’t Kasama Kita, Ysabella, Tayong Dalawa, Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, Mara Clara, My Binondo Girl, Lorenzo’s Time, Juan dela Cruz, My Little Juan, Honesto, Born For You, Ikaw Lang ang Ibibigin and Iisa Pa Lamang.
