Valerie “Bangs” Garcia first stepped into the limelight in 2004 as a television host in ABS-CBN Davao’s teen variety show KSP (Kapamilya Sabado Party). The following year, she tried her luck in Manila by joining ABS-CBN’s national model search, Close Up to Fame, and was later given the opportunity to sign a contract as an official ABS-CBN talent.
The newly minted star was first introduced in the youth-oriented television sitcom Let’s Go, where she got her showbiz monicker “Bangs” for playing a rocker whose face was always literally covered with her bangs. But her big break truly came when she landed the role of one of the lead agents in the action series Palos and her first lead role in the TV adaptation of Gilda Olvidado’s Magkano ang Iyong Dangal?
Bangs also made a mark playing the villain in Kambal sa Uma, and the psychotic mistress in Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo.
