Jake Cuenca started to appear in television as a commercial model at the young age of nine. At ten, he has already made a cameo in the film version of the televison fantasy anthology Wansapanataym. This was soon followed by supporting roles in Star Cinema’s Takbo Barbara Takbo and Panday.
He became an official ABS-CBN talent in 2006, and immediately joined Sana Maulit Muli as a recurring character. After doing the rounds of drama anthologies, Jake landed the lead role in the action series remake of Cesar Montano’s Palos. This was followed by subsequent lead status in Tayong Dalawa, Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Bud Brothers and My Cheating Heart, Rubi, Green Rose, Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo, Ikaw Lamang and the Philippine adaptation of Telemundo’s Pasion de Gavilanes, retitled Pasion de Amor.
Jake has also shared top billing in the movies My Neighbor’s Wife, Status: It’s Complicated, When The Love Is Gone and In The Name of Love, for which he bagged the Movie Supporting Actor of the Year award at the 28th PMPC Star Awards for Movies. He was also cited as the Male Kontrabida of the Year by Yahoo! OMG! Philippine Awards in 2014.
Jake is currently seen as a regular host in ASAP, and is expected to start a new drama series with Gerald Anderson this 2016.
