UAAP 77 was a heartbreaking season for all Lasallians as they saw their hard fought championship slip through their fingers. What would have been the second step in setting a new UAAP dynasty ended on the Archer's first year as the defending champion. But there's no time to mourn what could have been as Coach Juno Sauler pushes the Archers further and harder this season, wanting to come into UAAP 78, not as a shot at redemption, but as a fresh start.
The new season of the UAAP presents some stark challenges that the Archers will have to overcome if they want to get back on top of the food chain. The competition has changed drastically and the team is facing some radical changes to its roster. Entrenched veterans such as Norbert Torres, Arnold Van Opstal, and Almond Vosotros have gone and moved on with a swathe of new recruits expected to take their place. The expectations placed upon a new Archer have never been higher as they are forced to take on greater responsibilities to fill the void left behind. The pressure is equally great on returning veterans as they are forced to push themselves harder to reign in a team that has never looked this green. Jeron Teng, Jason Perkin, Thomas Torres, and Prince Rivero will be playing with a huge weight on their shoulders as Lasallians everywhere look to them to carry them to another shot at the title.
In spite of all the changes, the core of the Green Archers remains the same. The team will be walking onto the hardcourt with a united mindset
go big or go home.
