In order to save her family from their huge debt, young probinsyana Maya Dela Rosa (Jodi Sta. Maria) decides to leave her small hometown in Mindoro and try her luck overseas, only to find out that she was scammed by her supposed recruiter from Manila. Desperate and frustrated, Maya chooses to stay in Manila to look for another opportunity and keep her promise of a better life to her family. In spite of her dilemma and discouraging situation, Maya still finds kindness in her heart when she meets a mute girl named Abby lost and separated from her parents. She finds out later on that Abby was the youngest daughter of a rich airline company owner and widower, Richard Lim (Richard Yap). Maya's life is changed forever as the extremely wealthy and snotty businessman offers her a job as Abby's new nanny.
