Celebrity Info

Birthday: July 8, 1961

The most difficult ordeal that Ces Orena-Drilon had to face as a journalist happened in 2008 when she was kidnapped for ransom together with two cameramen in Sulu, Mindanao. She was held captive for 10 days which she considers as probably the longest days of her life. Fortunately, Ces and her peers were released by their abductors after successful negotiations even without having to pay any ransom to the militant group. Considered as the biggest blow in her personal life and profession, Ces bounces back to what she acknowledges as her passion even before she graduated from the University of the Philippines --- responsible journalism. Though she admits that the terror she faced in 2008 was a lapse in judgment, she acknowledges that the experience made her appreciate the real essence of delivering the truth to the public.
