Maricar Reyes first appeared on cam as an advertising model for various TV and print advertisements in the Philippines and across South East Asia. She was eventually tapped to join show business via ABS-CBN with a debut role as the young Gloria Sevilla in Komiks Presents: Kapitan Boom. She later joined the cast of the Philippine adaptation of the Mexican hit I Love Betty La Fea and was eventually featured in the series Precious Herats Romances Presents: Bud Brothers, for which she earned the Best New Female TV Personality from Star Awards for TV. She continued to pursue the path of acting with notable roles in Lovers In Paris, Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, Agimat: Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla Presents: Tonyong Bayawak, Imortal, 100 Days to Heaven, Growing Up, Dahil sa Pag-Ibig, Juan dela Cruz, Luv U and Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon. Her big screen performances have also earned Maricar a string of critical success, including a Best Actress award at the Cinema One Originals Film Festival for her role as an idealistic lawyer in the film Anatomiya ng Korupsyon and nominations for her works in the films And I Love You So and Shake, Rattle & Roll 13. She alsos appeared in the movies 24/7 In Love, Somebody to Love and The Unmarried Wife. Maricar is married to Filipino crooner Richard Poon.
