Kathryn began to showcase her big talent in acting by playing junior versions of more senior dramatic actresses in major soaps, such as the young Bea Alonzo in It Might Be You and the young Gretchen Barretto in Magkaribal. She later graduated into her own television series playing lead roles in Super Inggo and the succesful remake of the phenomenal hit Mara Clara. Having made a mark as Mara, and gaining blockbuster success in her first major film Way Back Home, Kathryn soon starred in a series of major soaps where she was paired with promising young leading men. In Princess and I, she crossed paths with Daniel Padilla who remains his romantic on and off screen partner. The two have paired in the hit soap Got To Believe and the recent remake of Pangako Sa ‘Yo. Their television success soon made way for their subsequent blockbuster hits Must Be… Love, Pagpag: Siyam Na Buhay, She’s Dating the Gangster, and Crazy Beautiful You. Like her romantic partner, Kathryn has also ventured into singing. Her self-titled album, Kathryn, was released in 2014, featuring a duet with Daniel that later became the official theme song for ABS-CN’s summer station ID. The couple has just finished filming their newest big-screen offering Barcelona: A Love Untold, which was shot in Spain under the direction of critically-acclaimed director Olivia M. Lamasan.
