Having graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Electrical Communication Engineering, nobody thought that he'd one day have a career on television -- as a weatherman, no less. We've been seeing him from time to time when there are typhoons, trying to explain rainfalls, sustained winds and flood warnings among other things. Alvin has been a part of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), since 2009, first as a facility technician and later on becoming a weather forecaster, making him one of the youngest forecaster's in the weather bureau. Now, he is the resident weather man of ABS-CBN's morning show, 'Umagang Kay Ganda.' Outside his weather work, he enjoys the outdoors, spending a lot of his free time in surfing and other activities. He is even an active member of the Sports Climbing Association of the Philippines, Inc. No wonder he looks so masculine! That, plus his good looks and intellect (weather forecasting is no walk in the park), has caught the attention of viewers wondering if he can follow in the footsteps of fellow ABS-CBN hottie, Atom Araullo.
