A farmer’s son and former janitor turned singing idol may be the stuff of a fairy tale, but this became Bugoy Drilon’s amazing reality after coming in second during the final round of Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2. His true-to-life tale has in fact been featured in Maalaala Mo Kaya, where his character was portrayed by Mark Bautista. His first single Paano Na kaya, released under Star Records, achieved Gold stutus and became the Most Downloadble Song of 2009. He was also hailed that year as the Best Male Recording Artist at the Awit Awards People Choice. Bugoy was recently seen in the reality music competition We Love OPM: The Celebrity Sing-Offs as a member of Tres Kantos. The team, which also included Daddy D and Jovit Baldivino, was mentored by Erik Santos and emerged as the Grand CelebriTeam.
